Lauro shows the link between isolationism & bigotry and how those together formed a vocal minority in the Republican party and swayed many conservatives Republicans to believe that isolationism, in the Ron Paul sense, is the "real conservatism" and real Republicanism. Lauro asserts that is not true, never has been and Ron Paul and his agenda are losers. Lauro discusses the identity of the swing vote in America as being mostly Latino and Latinos are mostly Catholic and that those two dynamics are both growing and are of great value to the Republican Party. Lastly, Lauro discusses an example of the bigotry still faced in America by Mexicans and how the Republican party must abandon any relation to that agenda if it is ever to win another election and save this nation from both economic and cultural collapse. As a result we are under assault from a resurgent enemy. Recent news supports the supposition that there will be more & more terrorist attacks in 2010 as there were new attacks in Afganistan, and a new front opens in Yemen. A columnist describes the dictatorships in Latin America and though there are new & growing dictatorships, there is still hope as polls show a slight majority of Latin Americans prefer democracy. Finally, Lauro discusses the ways that Barry was elected by portraying himself as both radical and, with the help of a entertainment news media, as a "regular guy." But Republicans also failed in that they pushed away the "swing vote" made up of mostly Latinos with their harsh & divisive anti-immigration rhetoric. Now the GOP must seize the initiative to promote immigration reform with economic recovery in mind and promote border security with illegal drugs & crime elimination in mind.
