And the return of "Melrose Place"? Seriously? Goodbye Doctor. Wonder if it had something to do with the time change? Oh and, Hello Doctor. In Preview Reviews; "Friday the Thirteenth", Jason has the quickness this time but, does Jean Claude? We'll probably not be the first to coin the phrase "Actumentory", or is that just a word? And “Liar, Liar" part 2 A.K.A. "Yes Man”. In Recommended Rentals and Buys; "Slither" if you have to but "Singin’ in the Rain" is better says I. All this and bad Christmas math on this edition of Mediaocrity.TV! Awe Come On! Join us!

Episode 41 - "Bring on the Payne!"

On this 41st Episode of Mediaocrity.TV "Eagle Eye". Good action flick? Hard to not give anything away, but we manage to review it anyways. Also, a sort-of-correction on the blaming of the aliens in "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull" on the Burg. "Max Payne" might be the best videogame movie of all time! Or it might not, tune in and see what we think, but I can tell you it's not supernatural. In TV, we have the news on some full season pick-ups! As well as some not so disappointing cancelations. Amazing Race is superior. Well in our opinion. "Madmen" depends on a contract renewal with a lead actor and "Battlestar" has some news too. In Preview Reviews, "Taken" stands to be good with all the merc skizzels. And "The Unborn" actually gives our Horror guy goose pimples, but reminds the rest of us of Dwight Schrute. In Recommended Rentals, "Greek" or however you spell it, and "Déjà Vue" is one of the greatest time travel movies ever! All this and a copy-cat Sci-Fi rant. Get into the best season of Mediaocrity.TV ever! Wait we don't have seasons....

Episode 40 - "The Partitioned Brain!"

On this 40th edition of Mediaocrity.TV "Appaloosa" has us ducking the shots of “realisticness” and "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" sends us all around town on a quest for the super secret show. But is this just another type cast for Michael Cera? Indie’d. Are you burning to see "City of Ember"? We'll tell you if it turned our lights on. Then after the movie numbers in TV we play catch up in letting you know what’s worth watching in the fall season. You should feel "Privileged". "My Own Worst Enemy" and does “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” face termination? Is “The Mentalist” akin to “Monk” or “Psyche”? “Fringe” isn't lighting our dialog fire. In preview reviews "Four Christmas's" who wouldn't want more Christmas? Also, "Bedtime stories" and "Ink Heart". And in recommended rentals "IRON MAN", oh yeah and "Sports night". All this and a gerbil/Disney rant from you know who on this episode of Mediaocrity.TV!

And don’t forget your dose of Olympic size pain on the YouTube. In Preview Reviews what's coming soon? Listen and see! But "Max Pane", "Traitor", and "Babylon A.D." to name a few. In Recommended Rentals we'll let you know what we think of "The Wire" as well as "Chasing Amy" and a darker "Daredevil" rounded out by the Beeb’s "Robin Hood". Join us! The Pod people command you!

On this 35th Edition of Mediaocrity.TV, Space Chimps, the dude, Keith does the Movie numbers! The Olympics, the word cumulative, "The Dark Knight" again, the woot, the déjà vu, and the Skype line. In TV "Robin Hood" without the Hood, and we can't edit our brains! Mild use of fake TV swears, please be advised. Are all the Olympics in HD? In Preview Reviews a new Guy Ritchie movie and this time not a disappointment, maybe. Also "Appaloosa" is set to become the next solid western after "3:10 to Yuma". In Recommended Rentals and Buys, "Gotham Knights" is Anime with a bat-twist. “The Ruins” is now on DVD and “Sneakers” is a hacker classic. All this and the reason for the growling Bale in this semi-train wreck of an episode of Mediaocirty.TV! Join us anyway! Just don't expect sanity.

Episode 33 - "Rachel Weisz, We Apologize!"

On this 33rd episode of Mediaocrity.TV "X-Files, I want to believe" Just a clip show? Is it northern exposure or just a psychic chase? Is Scully a deadbeat mother who flip-flops her beliefs? If Chris Carter has a cameo and no one sees it is it still just like the old days? “The Dark Knight” desperately needs to sink “Titanic”. In TV “Robot chicken Star Wars 2” is snarky. What is snarky? Reality hosts, host the Emmy’s! Oh those poor comedians. Robert Hawkins joins cast of “The Prisoner’s reimagining (Lennie James). The Next Food Network Star” has a winner, but poor Adam. Good luck Big Daddy. Adam, just “Ask Aida”. Food Detectives” get to the bottom of the five second rule with Ted Allen and by the way, drink milk. “Deal or no Deal” five days a week, and with Howie!!!! Better be on extra lookout for the germs!

On this 26th Edition of Mediaocrity.TV the three of us have a heated debate about the new "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in what is perhaps the most spoilerish of all our reviews. Meet Cate Blanchett, mindbender. We run the numbers for the weekend of May 30th to see who came out on top. In TV "In Plain Sight", "Burn Notice" and "Eureka" catch our eye and did anyone else see the finale of Lost? As George might say; "Dude". We welcome the new show runner to "Doctor Who". Don’t blink. One of us gets up in arms, and on the soapbox, regarding CBS's mediocre attempt at UFC. Peh! Wannabees. Well give you the June rundown of weekend sure-to-be-hits and blockbusters as well this helpful tidbit in our Recommended Rentals section; Paris Hilton, can't act. On this our 25th edition of Mediaocrity.TV, "The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian" a lion you can sink your teeth into. Yes, they were close friends and no, it's not another LOTR. Our new section "Movie Numbers" needs a new name but that didn't stop Iron Man from coming in second! In TV we'll go over the UP FRONTS! What are we looking forward to? Can Cannes can Indie? Are we really people? Go buy a ROKU Netflix Box or wait for our review in a few weeks. Bye bye Sweeps. We'll see you soon enough. Keith watches a romantic comedy!?!!? "27 Dresses". "Nancy Drew" spurs nostalgia that’s totally unrelated and someone on the crew needs to “Curb” some “Enthusiasm”. All this and more on this very eclectic, Seinfeld-esc version of Mediaocrity.TV.
Episode 24 - "A Touching Story..."

On this 24th Edition of Mediaocrity.TV we review David Mamet’s “Red Belt”, give that young man some life choices. Kutcher and Diaz get hitched in “What Happens in Vegas…”. Can they work it out? One of us may have lost our minds, but that’s nothing new. See if you can catch on. In TV we’ll discuss the plethora of season finales coming up as well as some other stuff we thought worth mentioning like “Lost” and a “House” spin off. “Ugly Betty” moves to NY for tax purposes. Marvel has a four year plan. In preview reviews, new “Starwars”, thanks Lucas for all that respecticalization. Brendan Frasier’s new one “Journey to the center of the earth” seems to need a more appropriate title such as “Fall to the center of the earth and then make your way back out”. We realize this may be a little too long a title for promotional material though. Rainn Wilson in “Rocker” and to top it all off “The Fall”. In Recommended Rentals, Jerry Goldsmith, “Charlie Wilson” and “Teeth” revisited. All this and, what’s with the comedians in the dramatic rolls? On this Edition of Mediaocrity.TV! Get your salsa someplace else.

On this 23rd Edition of Mediaocrity.TV, "IRON MAN" GO SEE IT! Wait listen to us first! Then Go see it! Wait, was that Jeff Bridges? In TV Smallville, is it on the chopping block, or can a game of addition-subtraction with villains revitalize it? We'll tell you what we think. “Greys” gets a visit and “CSI” gets a new character. Loss can be a good thing. In Preview Reviews “The House Bunny” is a long ways off. In Recommended Rentals “Roswell” divides us, and Mark remembers a name! “In the Name of the King”, yep it's a “B”, but not terrible. LOTR is still the gold standard. Lars von Trier’s Danish "The Kingdom" is quite possibly the weirdest inspiration for a weird show that Steven King used for the weirdness in the very weird "Kingdom Hospital". Oh, and it's possibly cursed. All this and more on this “Mist”y edition of Mediaocrity.TV! Sonic Screwdriver.

Episode 22 - “Spiraling Down the Toilet of Craziness...”

On this 22nd edition of Mediaocrity.TV studios No Skypin and no phone-ins, we are all in the studio for the first time ever! We review "The Ruins", why didn't they go to Cancun? Ziggurats are cool? Hong Kong Fooey with "The Forbidden Kingdom". Didn't Jet Li retire? Extra "Lost"?!? Oh, and extra "Greys"... Sweeps are set in stone but don't quote Brandon. Nealson sucks? The NBA is media too. In Preview Reviews we might have something... “It's a Boy Girl Thing”. IMDB is our friend. Wow, Freaky. In Recommended Rentals, surf guitar in “The Kingdom”. Jason Batman is everywhere and the “Friday Night Lights” connection. "Rome" has fallen but was very well done. "Explorers" and sweep stunts might land one of us "Six feet under". Join us for this and more deep stuff on Mediaocrity.TV.

Episode 21 - "Cause We're Not Stupid..."

On this 21st edition of Mediaocrity.TV listener Will has asked for a Zombie moratorium and we are happy to oblige. In movies the team discusses the somewhat over the top "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", what's with full frontal nudity anyways? In TV we get into the thick of things with "UFC" and, what's this? The "Buffyverse" invades "Gossip Girl"? How can this be? Someone somewhere must be smoking something and the "Refer Madness" is carrying over to at least 2 new movies... "Pineapple Express" and "The Wackness". Come on, really? "The Wackness"? Are we scraping the bottom of the barrel for movie titles? "X-Files wants to believe something or other in its second instalment and, “Cloverfield” is all shaky and new on DVD. "Water horse" just can't get any respect from 2 of the Mediaocrity.TV crew despite the thematic elements. "Nip Tuck" is apparently not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. No man is an island but were keepin our hands to ourselves on this exciting, somewhat unbalanced, installment of Mediaocrity.TV! By the way, did we mention no Zombies?

Episode 20 - "Save the Monkey, Save the World"

On this 20th edition of Mediaocrity.TV, was "Leatherheads" the comedy it was billed to be? "Nims Island" really didn't belong to anyone, least of all the CGI pelican. In TV we'll talk about post strike returns of your favorite shows like "The Office". A non office episode of the office has complainers complaining about the office not being in the office. I wonder how harsh they will be with the spinoff series. A sweeps explanation and NBC's throwing down of the fall gauntlet. They don't need no stinking up fronts! Extra "Heroes", and a story you must tune in to here if you live in a house and don't want to die! News at 11. In preview reviews a re-envisioning of the Dark Knight coming soon. "Space Chimps", a chimp is an ape. It doesn't seem to be an episode of mediaocrity.tv without the mention of a zombie flick, but this time Keith is not looking forward to it!!! Will this be the summer of bad movie titles? “Farscape” aint no “Muppets” and Brandon’s not made of time. Andy Dick's last good role in “News Radio”, and we miss you Hartman. Zombie correction, and much, much more! No that's pretty much it. Save the monkey save the world. Ok, Ok ape.

Episode 19 - "Zombies-R-us?"

On this 19th edition of Mediaocrity.TV we review “Run Fatboy Run”, yes that word was sitcomish. “Superhero Movie” once again prompts a find the rating race of our team, but who will win this time? My money’s on the guy with the beard. In TV “Battlestar” is back for its final run… or is it? One of us is digging “Misguided”, while the other two are standing around like government workers refusing to pick up a shovel until it goes to DVD. Can Stamos propel ER into another decade? We’ll tell you what we think , as usual. In Preview reviews “Lost Boys 2”, “Speed Racer” yet again, and we don’t care but “Sex in the City”. And finally, with a zombie thrown in for good measure, we invite you to sit back and listen to Mediaocrity.TV, especially if the dentist isn’t through with you yet.

Episode 18 - "The HD-MTV Generation"

On this 18th edition of Mediaocrity.Tv, will "Never Back Down" Become the "Karate Kid" for the HD-MTV generation? We think so. And "In Bruges" manages to drop the F-Bomb more times than you will be saying, "what?" about something Colin Farrell says in his native tongue. "Grosse Point Blank" anyone? In TV we have two somewhat lackluster but at the same time amazing cancellation announcements! In preview reviews we have "Tropic Thunder" which sounds like a basketball team from a Ferrell movie, though it be in actual fact a Stiller movie about the making of a movie.... and by the way, Nolte is still nuts. Will "Meet Dave" be another shining gem in Murphy's career? Only time will tell. All this and "The Invisible man" on DVD with all the mediaocrity we could squeeze in. Admit it, you miss Fun Bob too!

Episode 17 - "Bixby, Bana or Norton? Poor ol' Lue."

On this 17th edition of Mediaocrity.TV we review the defiantly non-zombie movie "Doomsday" as well as the movie with no apparent end of acclaim in sight "No Country for Old Men". In TV we discuss The revamp of everyone’s favorite, but never heard of, "Cupid" written by Rob Thomas of "Veronica" fame. And 90210 returns with a cast of new people who will go on to do great things just like the last.... 'Ahem' The Trailer with the garbled title is the new "Hulk", sorry about the audio, and it's still probably not for the Bixby lovers, Although Lue Ferrigno has a cameo. A few of our crew express surprise that "Love Monkey" was actually a real show, and not what it sounds like apparently.... as well as a riveting review of "Jekyll" and an independent and foreign film or two thrown in the mix. All this and a plastic watch at the bottom of the Mediaocrity.TV cereal box!

Tape Forest Tape! Friday night lights season 3? Can it be? Only for the right price and if a few networks can share it. Get your “Knight Rider” discussions on! NBC going year round? Will others follow? “Lost” interactive pop up videos provide more for your viewing and fan boy sleuthing pleasure. Seasons might go all flip floppy which is ok with the big 4 which leads one of our crew to ponder; "in TV why sweep if the floor ain't dirty?" Then we've got the “Road Rules Real world Challenge” thingy (not an official title) as well as “LOST”!! “Eli Stone”? George Michael? A "Strange days" rebuttal in listener mail and Vinny Jones in "Midnight Meat Train"!? No it's not what it sounds like, we checked just to make sure. “Civic duty”, yet another “Rear Window”? On this 11th edition of Mediaocrity.tv we review "The orphanage", horror? Not so much. Also 2 of our team are at odds about "Cloverfield" can they stand each other on such shaky ground? Has realism in movies gone too far? We also discuss our opinions on the “Sarah Connor Chronicles”, what we thought about everyone’s favorite new Terminatrix, how the writers’ strike might affect your summer and immediate future with what’s new and what’s left in TV. Keith's Superbowl input and more “shaky” to come with "The Poughkeepsie Tapes". The spirit of six degrees weaves itself through the entire episode with “Banditas” hot, pun intended, on the tails of Kevin B., Michael C., and Colin F.
