Meet your new best friend. Chub Creek is one of the pioneering music/comedy/soundseeing/storytelling podcasts featuring home grown content created by two life-long friends, Dave and Gary. Gary has retired from podcasting now, but Dave still carries on making a total ass of himself just to make you laugh (or cry). Original music, stories, skits and silliness. Come on in, you'll be glad you did.

Chub Creek 91 - Dave is a Dink Okay I'm back. Back in black. Or at least earth tones. Thanks for being patient, or if you didn't know I was gone, thanks for not noticing. Lots to talk about today in this ninety first installment of Chub Creek, featuring me, (Hi, I'm Dave) and Brenda Dayne, Syne Mitchell, Sage Tyrtle, Scott Fletcher, Jake Cordova, The National Pool, and the Loving Letters of Lots of Listeners. Big love to y'all. Mwah! Oh and I know the knock knock joke doesn't make sense. It was something I was doing with the kids and it is still funny to me. Although I think I screwed it up. Ah well. Ed thought it was funny.

An amazing little surprise greeted me today after I came home from work. What an amazing creation our own Mollie knitted (you'll remember her bit on Darkspeed as the old coffee maker, "your coffee is ready"). I'm absolutely floored at the quality and care that went into this little beauty. Merry Christmas, Mollie, and to everybody else. Thanks so much! You're a doll. (and I don't mean a dink doll). Rather than keeping the beer warm, as you'd almost expect from a mini-beer-sweater, it keeps the beer frosty cold. Cheers!

Britney Spears Crotch Shot

Just in case you were scanning the web looking for photos of Britney Spears' crotch, I wanted you to know that they're not posted on this website. But while you're here, why not check out the Chub Creek Podcast and listen whilst you get your perv on? I mean, you need good audio to go with your illicit crotch photos. Ah, Britney. I think somewhere down the line she must have signed a deal with the devil for all the attention she's getting. Her and Paris HIlton, (whose crotch is also not featured here.) If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Britney has been enjoying her new-found freedom (divorce from whatever his name is) and has been letting fly with her lack of unmentionables. Okay, fine. I did a little surfing for you, and if you must, you can click here to see the not-very-interesting photo. Okay this is a shameless attempt at generating a humorous amount of web hits. But you're here, so it must be working. Also, if you're looking for a great camel toe photo you can look here . Not sure what all the fuss is about, personally. This complete waste of time has been brought to you by Chub Creek Dot Com.TWO DAYS LATER:Here's an update. Hahahahaha. See below:

Now here's something amazing. Mollie took a whimsical idea I had (to make a beer nice and cozy and stay cold at the same time) and here's what she produced! Krista is also working on one. We'll see whose looks the coolest when she's done. Hey, with a Chub Creek patch stuck on the side, how cool would this be as a hot new product everybody must have? Okay maybe just I must have it.Click here for info on how to make this amazing thing.

Chub Creek 76 - If You Seek HayYes, not such a work, kid, or anything else "safe" episode in any sense of the word. We begin with a horrible rendition of a song by Limp Bizkit that's kind of horrible to begin with, then march straight into the way we were (after we had to think and then some) and from there, directly into an unexpected conversation with the Dude himself. Some great music from Zeeche, and from a great uncle of mine who I don't think I've ever met. Strap yourself in, and don't be a dink.

Chub Creek 75 - DarkSpeed Episode 6

Chub Creek 75 - DarkSpeed Episode 6Special thanks to everybody who participated in this week's show. Namely, Graeme, Big Jake, Brenda Dayne, Bruce Murray, Katherine, Marvin Suicide, Mollie, Scott Fletcher, The Scarborough Dude, Gary, Oliver, and Rosie. Also a very BIG thanks to the Amazing Mr. Zeeche , (who I forgot to credit at the end) for the song "Lieutenant", which I very rudely asked for one day when I was planning out the show in my mind. Zeech, you rock. Thanks so much. This show was assembled in one day (about 14 hours), with the contributions of all the people above who sent MP3 files, mostly unscripted, but some were given a few hints about where the show was going. As usual, it all fit together amazingly well, with a few things almost miraculously so (for example, Bruce Murray - Buddy- had no idea there would be a talking coffee machine, and Rosie - Dr. Beaver - didn't know my cousin Oliver would be asking directions to the bar) Weird stuff. All music in this show (except Zeech's tune) was created here, and soon will be available on our music site. Click "the music" button on the right in a couple of days when I have time to post it.UPDATE: Okay I managed to get the website stuff working again, but lost this entry. So I re-entered it, but lost the comments. So (because I'm that anal) here is a link to the comments for this show. You can still add new comments by clicking the comments link below.

Then we have some music from the incredible Mr. Zeeche, and some more talking. Music, talking, skits, you know the drill. All these questions and more will not be answered on this episode of the Creek.
Chub Creek 64 - Just Super

Chub Creek 64 - Just Super Just Dave this week as Gary almost gets baked alive in his basement today. (no air conditioning down there) So this week we talk about Marmite, Vegemite, Mojitos, Coronation Street, and Superman. All this and some great new music from Zeeche and from Dave in this Super new episode. Great Scott! Come on in. Thanks to VealChart (and his 5 year old son for the great joke), the incredible Zeeche, and to Jannett for the great recipe. Speaking of which, here it is: (let her know if you enjoy it!)Traditional Cuban Mojito1/2 cup of sugar1 sprig of fresh mint leaves1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice3/4 cup of white rum (cuban preferred)Crushed iceSeltzer water1. Thoroughly crush the mint leaves into the sugar. The crushing releases the mint oils and adds to the flavor. Take your time on this step. It'll make a difference in your drink.2. Add the lime juice and the rum. Mix until the sugar is mostly dissolved. This is your "drink base".3. Fill a glass with crushed ice. Add your drink base about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up the glass. Can change this to suit your taste. You'll need to experiment a bit with this.4. Fill the glass up with the seltzer water.5. mix thoroughly and enjoy!

Chub Creek 59 - On my mind

Chub Creek 59 - On My Mind Mom DO NOT listen to the end of the intro. Trust me. This is a very personal show for Dave, as he decides to abuse the friendships of all the Chub Creek listeners by unloading on them. But it doesn't last that long and there's always the fast forward button. After that we have Koos Van Den Hout, some new music, a new podcast, and a description of what happened when Dave finally ventured out of the apartment and (shock of shocks) had a great time. Music, skits, stories and The Bat, all here on Chub Creek. Come on in, don't have an orgasm.Podcasts mentioned on the show: BLARM! (a wonderful podcast from Wankergirl of Newfoundland Canada), Cast-On , and DicksnJanes. You can visit the Bad Dog Theatre and read about the improv production, The Bat by clicking the links. Please don't forget to send us any of your brilliant audio files for "Dark Speed" in MP3 format, or by clicking our Odeo button at the right of this page. Also remember to add your pin to the Frappr Map for the Dink Dolls so they can come visit you!Who's Jake Gold?Who's Carol McNeil?

Chub Creek 58 - One Creek, Two Rivers On this episode of the Creek we head over to... the creek. Yes it's a soundseeing tour extravaganza, so make sure you bring your headphones with you, and a big can of insect repellant. Special thanks to Brenda Dayne of Cast-On for a new edition of "Hot Under the Collar". Also thanks to Dicks n Janes , Marvin Suicide , Evil Genius Chronicles , the Flying Vealchart Company , Knit 2B Tied , Yeast Radio, and Mr. Zeeche for the various bumpers and ID's used in Gary's medley. Also thanks to Carry from "Rantings of a Rabid Knitter ". We hope there's an injection for that.Beavers, bugs, peeing, farts, soaking wet pants and more, all here on Chub Creek. The (actually kind of cool) alternate "ehnanced" podcast complete with photos, clickable links, and chapters is available here. Please view this in iTunes or on an iPod with photo viewing capability.

Chub Creek 57 - Life: Thanks to our Mothers

Chub Creek 57 - Life: Thanks to our Mothers Welcome back to the Creek. This is one show where you definitely should be wearing headphones and enjoy the benefit of the amazing new stereo microphones gary uses with his portable recorder during some totally absorbing soundseeing. Also this week, see if you can keep track of how many times Gary complains that he may be getting sick. Prize details to follow for the lucky winner. This week we have Dutch lessons with Koos Van Den Hout, (Brenda Dayne's Hot Under the Collar will appear next time) In my opinion, this is one of the best episodes of Chub Creek, ever. To all the beautiful Moms listening around the world: Happy Mother's Day. New music, laughter, tears and soulsearching all right here on Chub Creek.Podsafe music created here just for you is available on the PMN(link fixed now)

Chub Creek 56 - The In Between

Chub Creek 56 - The In Between I haven't even listened to this yet. That's how late we've been working on this. I'm going to have faith and just post it and hope for the best. This also means (because I haven't heard Gary's half) I can't speak intelligently about the show, so instead I've asked Syne Mitchell (novelist and host of WeaveCast) to write the show notes, using the most popular search terms in the world, which will also serve to piss off the whole planet trying to find important information but getting Chub Creek Episode 56 instead, har har. Those notes are as follows:Patrick Kennedy admires the St. Helens slab rock of Tony Blair, while only the Kansas marriage age prevents John Allen Muhammad and Donald Rumsfeld from tying the knot. "Excessive stamp prices slow job growth", says Burt Rutan, who cites the Google lawsuit as a mitigating factor.Original podsafe music, stories, skits, silly lyrics (thanks to Jessie and Jessalyn for the great lyrics) all here on the Creek. So come on in, don't be a... Deek? Thanks also, as always, to Syne Mitchell , Marvin Suicide , Ted Riecken and David Slusher for the bumpers.

We're number two!

Yeah it's weird. But if you go to Yahoo's podcast website and click on "comedy" you'll find us as the number two podcast at the time of this writing. What I find strange is that we don't ever seem to be featured on the front page. That would be cool. Anyway, if you feel like it, we'd appreciate your adding a review on the site and maybe that's what would help us get featured there. Anyway, neato, huh. Also I've noticed that Frappr now offers a chat window on the map page. You can check it out here. I'd also love to someday have us features on the iTunes podcasts pages somewhere. Any idea how that's done? Jeez, we're not asking much are we?

Also be sure to check out geek farm life and give them a try. Thanks to Chris from Still Playing Cards (and the Flying Vealchart Company) for this week's oddball lyrics. I've been wanting to post this for a few weeks, but I also wanted to wait until I had it framed. I just haven't been able to find one I like, so... here it is! This beautiful little painting I received recently in the mail from Amy Weber is something I've fallen in love with, and am very grateful for. Visit Amy's Ebay site and have a look at the amazing works she has for sale. Thank you so much, Amy. I'm very touched and... nervous of losing it. Gotta find that frame. My goal it to use a fairly large frame that shows it off and accentuates how small it is. (click read more to see the photo)

Chub Creek 51 - Ed Finds a Clocksuker

Chub Creek 51 - Ed Finds a Clocksuker Today we take a little soundseeing tour around town. Dave (admittely a little whiny today) has the most sincere intentions in the beginning and they quickly descend to something more Swedish. Soundseeing, Ed and Ethel, more soundseeing, some talking and whining about the Podcasters Across Borders podcaster's meeting, and some more talking and some more whining. Intrigued yet? I bet.Music Dave was listening to in the car is from Marvin Suicide's episode number 61(Subscribe to Marvin's show here) Hotcakes And Sausage by The Old Codger (with R. Stevie Moore), The Old Codger And Company (Swingin Single): www.comfortstand.comKeep It Down by Ben Crea, Employee Of The Month:www.randomaccessrecordings.comThe short jingles in between some of this show were built into Garageband and are all podsafe.Original Podsafe Music created here just for you is (mostly) available for podcasters (and according to CC Chapman will be available for purchase in early April) on the PMN:Use Me - by Dave's and his Aunt Susie (a cover of a Bill Withers tune and possibly not podsafe)Incomplete Dream - by Gary from Chub CreekGetting On - by Dave from Chub Creek

Chub Creek 50 - Run From the Hills!

Chub Creek 50 - Run From the Hills! Welcome to half a hun' of CC. Dave decides to mix up the genres a bit. From heavy metal to country to acid jazz, it's all baked in. Speaking of baked, Dave shares his total lack of culinary skills and, well, asks for HELP! There are only so many ways to enjoy Basa fillets. Listening back to this episode, (switching to first person now) I sometimes think I must be nuts spending this much time to produce such a pile of schlock. Really this one would probably not be worth your time, were it not for the first twenty seconds. There IS a very SCARY story in the show, along with some horrifying knocks on the door and more tales of household disasters. Thanks to contributors April (who hosts a great knitting blog called Coffee Crazy Knitters) and, as always to Marvin Suicide for his great audio. BIG, big ups to Julia for sending me the pop screen. Visit her blog Knitting my Time Away and send her some nice compliments for helping out Dink number two. Thanks also to Syne Mitchell for the great ideas and submissions. Visit her website and BUY HER BOOKS at: www.synemitchell.com and thanks to Shana Kreikemeier of Lincoln Nebraska's Journal Star Podcast for the offer of knitting. Other exciting news and stories in this episode. My brain is starting to shrink, so you'd better come on in, don't be a dink.Podsafe Music in this episode made here just for you is available at the PMN (or soon will be when they make the sell buttons live).
Chub Creek 49 - All Engines Reverse! Wow is it Monday already? Where did the time go? Oh yeah, into doing this show again. Thanks to Ted Riecken from Island Podcasting for his cool skit at the beginning, and to Marvin Suicide for all the things he's sent over the past year, some of which I've rehashed. This week we have a fantastic new song from Zeeche. A serious song! Wow! Also a new episode of Dark Speed, and a lot of blathering about nothing in particular. This rather dull show was saved in the end by Jeanie's son, Anson who sent a spectacular couple of clips that I think will really make your day. Thanks Anson, and here's a link to Jeanie's sites Sexy Knitters Club and Crochet Cast. Original songs, stories, skits and more as usual on the banks of Chub Creek. I think I fell in.Podsafe music created here is available on the PMN My LoveDip Doing the Right Thiing (by Gary)

Chub Creek 48 - Needy Nittles and Crazy Cops Yes, if you listen closely, you'll hear the funniest verbal slip I've ever made or heard... and I didn't even notice it at the time!!! Episode 48 is choc-a-block with talking, music, and skits. First the talking, then the music, then the skits. Sometimes this gets mixed around. Keeps you guessing. Please give me some feedback on "Crazy Cop" which debuts here (and may never show up again depending on the reaction) it's really really strange. Also, I didn't get very many submissions (only two!) for Dark Speed, so that will die a hyper space death unless there is some interest. If I could still think I'd put something witty here that rhymes with don't be a dink. Oh, I almost forgot! Now available for download: Chub Creek Posters Print them out, put them up at work or at school (only if you have permission), or stick 'em on somebody's back. If you want to be cool like us, you'll do it!Special thanks to:Marvin Suicide Cast-On Island Podcasting Sexy KnittersAny music I decide to release from this show will be on the Podsafe Music Network :

Chub Creek 43 - Don't freeze the iRiver or the Gerbils This was a fun episode. Many thanks to those who contributed, I'll list you at the bottom of this paragraph. We begin in a foggy, wintry morning in Sudbury as Gary deals with some Van troubles and a frozen music player. Gary declares his love for an old guy from Scarborough and serenades him to boot. Later we find out the mechanical bill and learn of some of the nightmare parents can go through with teenagers. Just before Dave's half Gary gets himself arrested and Dave has to bail him out. What are friends for? Sing along with us as we break out an old favourite (or maybe an oldie you wish you never had to hear again) and listen as dave drives all over town while reading his emails. We finally remember to thank some very important people and finally find out what ever happened to our old pal Mr. Zeeche, and we find out why Dave spends about twenty minues apologizing to Zeeche's girlfriend! Songs, Gavels, Gerbils and more in this one, so it's well worth it when you click the link. So come on in, don't be a dink!Special thanks and BIG UPS to:Drey Monserrat of Rogue Factor (www.roguefactor.com) Sage and Todd from Quirky Nomads The Scarborough Dude of Dicks n JanesMadge Weinstein of Yeast Radio CC chapman of Accident hash The Podsafe Music Network Adam Curry and the Daily Source Code NyeGraeme Nobes from Wollongong Mr Zeeche (I heard a rumour about him, but I can't tell....)Zeeche's girlfriend Julie

Chub Creek 42 Well this one sucks. Not the podcast, but what Dave spends an eternity talking about. Computer problems be darned! We're like a combination of the post office and the Energizer Bunny. We just keep delivering and delivering and delivering. Neither rain nor sleet nor goddamn Apple computer hardware problems (read previous post) are going to keep us from putting out, baby. It's your weekly dose of nonsense. A new and exciting edition of Hot Under the Collar with Brenda Dayne of the Cast-On Podcast (a podcast for knitters) graces the virtual pages of this show, along with a very kind shout-out from the Otaku Generation podcast . Thanks guys... uh, we think. Gary must have been quite a sight to see, driving around Sudbury with his iRiver, because what he actually delivered almost caused a divorce. New music is (as usual) in this episode is all available on the Podsafe Music Network , and there are three nice ones today. Also thanks to Michael Butler of the Rock and Roll Geek Show for his most excellent show ID that we love to play over and over, and to Mark of Mark's Podshow for being such a great sport and singing along with our favourite tune about Gary. It's a great episide, even if the length did shrink, so come on in, don't be a dink! Original Podsafe Music created for this show as follows (coming shortly)

Chub Creek 41 Special Edition Brrrr it's cold in Sudbury. It's time for an extra special, EXTRA LONG episode of your favourite Podcast. (Notice I spelled the word favourite the correct, Canadian way.) Let's see... what's in store for you this time... oh yeah. Dave makes the long journey to Sudbury and is reacquainted with Gary's rather masculine microphone. The topics in todays show range from butchering headphones to eating frozen beef jerky. It's our first LIVE episode with both Dave and Gary in the same room at the same time. Get out of here! No really. Are you serious? Yep, it's true. Both in the same room... both drinking liberally. Give it a listen because after this session Dave came close to puking in the sink, so come on in, don't be a dink.
Chub Creek 40 Revisited Lordy lordy it sure is, or was forty. Gary gets so disgusted about his half of the previous version of this episode, after he throws up, he immediately returns to the Chub Creek Studio. So what does this all mean? You great folks get to listen to yet another version of Episode forty from the dinks! Gary gets pretty serious about his recording setup and how important it is that our fans are looked after. From way up north to the city of Toronto, the dinks extinguished this fiery disaster. Plus, as an extra bonus, Dave takes us to the mall where he is attacked by fans and is unable to buy guitar picks, AND ends up in a fist fight with an electronic salesman. This isn’t a déjà vu or a fluke, c’mon in and help clean up puke. Original Podsafe music by Chub Creek in this episode: Snot Rag Heavy Version - by Dave This is Chub Creek - by Gary Everyone Here is Mad - by gary Hey Yah - by Gary

Chub Creek 39 Finally the Dinkle Bell is rang... rung? ringed? Dinked. If you felt any danger Chub Creek was getting too serious, this episode should serve to make you feel much safer. Or maybe not. Depends how you look at it. In this episode we start off with by ripping off our own show (see episode 9 which, unfortunately, is archived now, so you'll have to search your library or bribe the dinks to send you a copy) as Dave and Gary fend off huge throngs of fans. Then we join Gary as he is joyously enthusiastic about Christmas and his lack of anymore shopping to do. In fact Gary is joyous about pretty well everything, including his liberal beer imbibing. Gary rocks out with an excellent remake of an older song of his, and then does it again in a more instrumental vein. Then we go for a walk in the fresh snow with just about every character to cross paths with Dave and Gary, including some who may have been better off forgotten. In Dave's half of the show we learn some of the touching history of the Dave and Gary nonsense, including a dig through the archives for some never before heard oldies from pre-Chub days. More instrumental music from Dave, then finally the long awaited Christmas tune contributed to by all of you. YOU GUYS ROCK. Thanks so much for putting yourselves out on a limb with us. You'll learn just how much we Canadians drink when you come on in. Don't be a dink.Heartfelt thanks to the following contributors to Dinkle Bells (in order of appearance)Mr. Zeeche (thanks Z, you rock even with a cold)Phyllis Evans (listener and vocalist extraordinaire. Chub Creek 38 Lots going on in this episode. For starters, we're brought into the bosom of celebrity once again. In this episode Zeeche gets a replay, and then join Ed as he peruses the tantalizing website of the popular podcast, Soccergirl Incorporated and finds more than he bargained for. In some way this segues into some fantastic new duet of music from Dave and his Aunt Susie in celebration of Dave's Mom's Birthday. (Oh, and Sue, gotcha back) Happy birthday to Mom! A quick review of the Dave and Gary doll situation, then yet another Frappr conversation and how many states in the US are full of dinks. Dave reviews the ridiculous size of McDonald's large french fries. Also a Dinkle Bells update. Listen to our new, and wonderful segment by Brenda Dayne of Cast-On. Some original music, then on to Gary and some touching moments that crossed his mind recently in a very cool soundseeing drive. Then we hear from Santa himself as we move into a very intimate and exciting interview with Gary's wife Lynn. Happy Holidays everybody. Chub Creek 37 Merry Christmas! Sick of all the Christmas crap yet? So is Gary. In this episode, Gary takes us on a magical journey through Scroogeville while getting stuck in traffic on the way there because of all the shoppers, then finally we make it back to the North Pole and find our Christmas Spirit again. This is a very special episode featuring our first attempt at an audience-participation, musical extravaganza. Okay it's not that interesting, but for some it might be. Once you've listened to the show, download the song "Dinkle Bells " and then add your own crazy Christmas (or other) verses to the song. Email it back to us, and we'll splice all the entries together and play it on the next Chub Creek and if it's any good we'll release it on the Podsafe Music Network with a credit for everybody who wants one right in the song tag. After that we explore some interesting topics with Dave as he talks about a great new podcast called Cast-On , and Dave's wish for some custom knitting from Brenda Dayne, host of the show. Then hear gossop about the new band Dave and Mr. Zeeche have may or may not have just created, a story about exploding bread, and finally Dave treats us to two new collaborations between himself and the silken voiced and beautiful Nicole Cardi. At one point Dave sings with her! What's that expression about a silk purse and a sow's ear? In any case we hope this finds you in the holiday "spirits"... nudge nudge, wink wink.... come on in. Don't be a dinkle bell. (UPDATE: The movie I was trying to think of was Amelie. Thanks Drey !)Must download podcasts featured on this episode:Cast-On a podcast for knitters with Brenda Dayne The Daily Source Code with Adam Curry Yeast Radio with Madge Weinstein Some songs available on the podsafe music network (others aren't podsafe so they're not):(To be announced)

Chub Creek 36 Let's Go! If you have an allergy to Dave's singing you might want to give this one a miss. But if not, this is the episode for you! Dave gets whiny and probably puts his foot in his mouth about four times complaining about Madge and Adam Curry while discovering several fixes to a couple of Apple problems that have been really bothering him. Dave mentions more people who have become members of our our Frappr! map and rehashes still more embarrassing old songs. Then we go off to the Northern Chub Creek studio where Gary does a cool, but brief sound-seeing tour of his daughter's adventures with toast, and addresses some of the difficulty of being in a northern city in winter time, including his love for a certain variety of underwear. Another reality that surfaced for Gary was the fact that he lives with four females, and what happens to him when yet more ladies show up to visit. Then we take an up close and personal look (yet again) at our frappr! members one by one. Be sure to have your Chub Creek Frappr ! map at the ready! Special thanks to the one and only P.W. Fenton (P Dub) of the Digital Flotsam podcast, a must listen on our playlist and a show we highly recommend. Chub Creek 35 Who is the Scarborough Dude? Why, he's the host of Dicks 'n Janes; one of Dave's favourite podcasts and a must listen. In this episode we rehash an older song that is rocketing up the PMN charts (okay maybe not quite) and then we get in the car and go for a soundseeing tour to Scarborough to visit with fellow podcaster SD (scarborough Dude) Complete with a light dusting of more original and very stupid music by Dave, this is a trip made even more interesting by the amazing quality of those binaural microphones stuck in Dave's ears. Then we teleport to Sudbury and join Gary as he shows us both his freakazoid side and his serious one as he segues into a remarkable piece of writing, and several amazing new songs in which Gary created his own loops using the new software he's experimenting with. This episode is a great "zone-out" both in soundseeing and just getting your mind in sync, so come on in, don't be a dink.Special Thanks to:Dicks 'n JanesThe Tipsy Chicks Podcast Ed's Mixed Bag Podcast Jesus on the Radio Podcast Aycliffe Podcast Songs we've made just for this episode (Links lead to our site on the Podsafe Music Network):By Dave:1992 Honda Civic Won't Pass the Emissions Test Blues I Walked Throughby Gary:Nipple FunPoop Pid Dee DooCourage

Chub Creek 34 Holy songtastic! We hope you're in the mood for some musical chillin' Chub Creek style. Gary decides to peel back the layers and delve into the archives for some amazing (not to mention disturbing) musical journeys. So much material has passed between Gary and I that there's a backlog and Gary finds this episode to be as good an excuse as any to share some of it with you. Gary shows his appreciation for all those who took the time to add to our FRAPPR map. Dave is very excited to present a special guest performer, with three brand new songs that he and she collaborated on together. Dave gives his shout out individually to some of those who have added to the FRAPPR map also. It's one FRAPPRiffic episode we think, so come on in. Then we learn some new words in Dutch thanks to our new segment complete with its own theme song. Lots of fantastic stereo soundseeing with both Dave and Gary, and his brother Ken. Gary recounts his version of the events and a heartbreaking lost bit of Chub Creek history, and outdoes himself with some amazing new music. Chub Creek 31 Sorry about the tardocity. This is an episode of introspection, reflection, interrogation, prostitution, and revolution. Well not really, but that would be cool if I could think of some more "tion" words that were relevant. Listen to Dave whine about the tin foil followed by a special message from a major world leader. More microphone woes, and some more whining. The nicotine problems are still affecting our moods it seems. Dave gets introspective about the moderate use of our music on the Podsafe Music Network . Thanks to C.C. Chapman and the U-Turn Cafe , IT Conversations, Michael Butler and (hopefully) Adam Curry , Yeast Radio, and many others for playing Chub Creek's Music in the last few weeks. In this episode hear the amazing story of Gary's Wedding Photography. Also hear about Gary's newest inspiration and hear some excellent songs, and we can all finally hear the real story about Gary's lump and what really happened at the doctor's office when the doctor wanted more than Gary was prepared to give. Dave finds himself very tired and explains what happens during those times (such as this when it's three o'clock in the morning and he's trying to type show notes) and what happens in the morning when he's supposed to be awake. Chub Creek 28 Gary really seems to be in his groove on this one. Two amazing songs and some storytelling mark this episode, along with some most excellent iRiver created sound effects. Listen as Gary tells us how he's just about had enough of listener slackership, and tells a road rage story to beat all road rage stories. Dave takes us for a trip to the antique shop and then goes riding on the range. Dave throws in his own two cents worth on the slacker listener issue and even dabbles into the subject of passive television culture. Hey I'm just realizing nobody sent me any Spanish. I'm still awaiting my audio clip of "give me an ash tray and a beer." Come on, spanish speaking listener slackers! Thanks. In addition, Dave sings about his secret love, the bloated lesbian that stinks. Come on in, don't be dinks. Chub Creek 26 A major announcement. This time Chub Creek's bringing more to the table than anybody likely wants to eat. But it's there, all 46 minutes of it. Listen to Gary reveal a deep, dark secret about Dave in a very elaborate series of skits and a sound whining tour. Are the rumours true? Gary plays a new song with the strangest lyrics ever written by somebody not under the influence of magic mushrooms or PCPs. Gary gets physical with his washer and reveals some serious dangers involved in walking down the stairs at his house. Dave gets his own back and talks about some amazing new secrets of Garageband in a language closely resembling English. Dave adds a new song, and goes on and on and on about all his favourite podcasts to the point of ridiculous. Cool original music, stories, skits and props all here on Chub Creek.
Chub Creek 25 Seven Month Anniversary

Chub Creek 25 capping seven months of crap (oops I put episode 24 in here by mistake. Thanks Jeff ) The seven month anniversary! It's a depressing time right now, and there are a lot of people to blame. Watching from Canada we find it difficult to step up and actually do much blaming, but I think we've had it, because we do plenty in this one. On a lighter note, listen as Dave kisses the asses of Michael Butler of the Rock 'n' Roll Geek Show , and Adam Curry in the same breath. This episode features the debut of a very special relative of Gary's as he shares three (THREE) new songs with us. This episode has a total of FIVE songs because we've decided to bite the bullet and let our show run on a bit long. Partly it's due to figuring out a way to make Garageband record longer than 33 minutes. Duh. It was easy. We talk plenty about Katrina in this episode, but I don't think there's much danger of being bummed out. Give it a listen, and don't forget to donate (and donate again if it's payday again) to the Red Cross so that these people can be rescued, fed, clothed and brought to safety. This one is up and down and all around, so hold on to something. Preferably something decent. Also please leave us a comment on the website or email us at thedinks@chubcreek.com

Chub Creek 24 Bock bock? Wha's that? it's the sound a chicken makes, of course. At last the decades long wait for a remake of the famous "Bock Bock I'm a Chicken" has been laid down. When Gary and I were about twelve we created a song that we found so great and so hilarious that it's never been far from our minds since. I've been dreaming of the remake forever now and It's finally happened. Unfortunately it bears absolutely no resemblance to the original... still, it can be considered a new Chub Creek anthem I'd say. Today we get into the nitty gritty of Gary's birthday, and some of Gary's thoughts on RockStar INXS (Did everybody hear our friend Michael Butler from the Rock and Roll Geek show interview the entire cast and band? Wow.) Dave brings us a new (long) song and we're once again joined by our two friends Ed and Ethel as they explore LSD. A song by Mister Zeeche of Yeast Radio fame, and some props for a great podcast by the Scarborough Dude called Dicks n Jane's . So there's music, skits and stories and more as usual. Check it out, it's better than you think. Come on in, don't be a chicken. (bock bock)

Chub Creek 23 Happy Birthday tooooo Gareeeeee.... Yes as of this Saturday, August 27th, Gary is officially not really 30ish, he's a little closer to 40ish, but not really. Join us as Gary relives a wonderful week-long visit with his dad, and shows us just how strange his family is. Plus learn everything you've always wanted to know about Randy. There are songs, seagulls, pigs, and strange voices coming from somewhere above our heads as usual, though this time Gary thinks the one above my head sounds like a crack addict, not sure where she came from. If you listen very closely you'll hear Dave impersonate a seagull by whistling through his teeth! This entire episode is dedicated to our Dads, both Len and Larry, but especially Len as he features prominently in this one. Here's to you, Dads. Well my dad really has nothing much to do with it, but I just wanted to say hi. If you'd like to learn about what exactly Dave had to drink, you'll have to come on in... don't be a dink.

Chub Creek Not Again Sorry about this. Gary has been having a very tough week, and he offered to finish the epiosde off, but I hadn't even started yet and there's no time left. So this will be another placeholder for your listening pleasure. Or something. In this episode, some sound seeing, some very loud music, and finally a chance for me to geek out a little bit. Also a great surprise from our friend Andre from dreynet.com Dink dink dink, blah blah blah. Hopefully we'll be back to normal again next week. Enjoy. Oh, and Gary's blog is here .

Check it out, dinks! I'll add some links later. Okay it's later now. Relevant links and many thanks to: Podcast Shuffle, our main bloated lesbian Ms. Madge Weinstein from Yeast Radio, and Marvin from the wonderful Marvin Suicide podcast. Chub Creek Not ...Good lord. Maybe you don't know me from Adam (Curry) but you will after this. Just eight hours before the next episode has to be posted to the server and Gary lets me know something awful. This is NOT an episode of Chub Creek, but it is a half hour long. What is it? You'll find out. Dave's twisted and elaborate impersonation of Adam Curry... complete with mouth-created sound effects. Also the worst song Dave's ever created.Get it while it's hot (dog)... dinks or not. Chub Creek 20 The big move has happened, and so has the big reunion. Listen as Gary and Dave meet face to face for the first time in twelve years and suddenly become useless at podcasting together. Listen to a personal podcast created by Gary just for me as I make the big move from Calgary to Toronto. Join us as we spill it all. Whether you're a dink or not, you'll like it a lot.

Chub Creek 19

Chub Creek 19 Oh, don't look now... it's a weird one. That's a change. Gary manages an entire episode without using his real voice whatsoever, a Chub Creek first! Gary shows his love and devotion to the Shakespeare Souffle family, and a band called Skinny Puppy, and teases Kim a bit for her pronunciation of the French Canadian delicacy, Poutine (I say Poo Teen) something they serve in Canada at both Burger King and KFC, not to mention New York Fries! Visit the future as Dave and Gary sit in rocking chairs on the porch in the year 2050, and learn all about Gary's feelings about Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen, who later converge in a song. This episode is a very serious one for Dave, as he gets something big off his chest, and uses the show as a sounding board. Don't forget that next week may be missing, and possibly the week after as we adjust to new digs. This website will be offline for a while unless Dave manages to park it somewhere temporarily, but if so, please keep checking back and don't unsubscribe to the show. We'll definitely be back. We need your patience here. Two podcasts I'd like all of you to check out: Island Podcasting with Ted Riecken, which is a wonderful slice of my former home of Vancouver Island, (especially check out the sound seeing tour of his paint ball game) and a new one with our friend Zedcaster, another fellow Canadian who recently cut off his nose laughing at our stupidity. He's a former musician who has an incredible audio set up and has some cool stuff to offer. And also check out this one called Quirky Nomads , a podcast from some freshly minted Canadians and their perspectives as former Americans. Please give them your support and tell them Dave sent you.

Chub Creek 18 One thing's for sure, it's a show Dave will never live down. That's right, listen to Dave embarrass himself in about a hundred ways! Just when he thought he'd done enough himself, Gary tacked on even more, to make the whole show a well rounded, extravaganza of fun and shames. Gary reveals some wicked new songs and gives us the lowdown on the latest in hard-driving technology. He really lets us know the real Gary. It doesn't matter if you're a technophobe or a technophile... this one's for you. Dave tells us his deep feelings about Apple and its Commander in Chief, Steve Jobs, and gets into the Intel switch thing a little bit. (I said aural, not oral) We wondered what would happen if you combined as many of their short sound clips as possible into one show. What happened? Almost everything. Listen as Gary unloads on us with TWO new songs; one that rocks, one that rolls. Dave shares with us his most intimate musical experience thus far, and shows us just how far he will go in the name of embarrassing himself. Learn, of all things, what the worst, most menial jobs in England were hundreds of years ago as Dave spins off into the oddest segue in his life. Things are strange this week, I guess it's time for another episode of Chub Creek. This one really does have the kitchen sink. Chub Creek 07 It's not easy being famous. Uh, sure. Join Dave and Gary as they explore the deepest catacombs of their vanity, and listen as they both manage to use the word 'hubris' in a sentence. Listen to stories about being embarrassed at work and learn how to deafen people by spilling a beer. Find out about what Gary and Dave did to a greedy bar owner in northern Onatrio, and explore the good and evil side of your hosts. Come on in.

Chub Creek 06 Who the hell is Lanny MacDonald? What on earth is a Medicine Ball? What is the combined weight of Dave and Gary? Listen to Episode 6 and you'll still never know the answer to any of these questions, but you'll have some good laughs picturing what Gary went through trying to stay young, and how shiny Dave's head really is. Find out how listening to Chub Creek can keep you in shape, and listen to Dave wander the dark streets and alleyways of the city in the name of podcasting (and exercise). This episode has the kitchen sink; come on in, don't be a dink.

Chub Creek 05 A great show this week. Join us as Dave creates exciting new sound effects and tells the story of the Oro World's Fair, talks about how cows can ride in cars, and then he plays the blues. Gary revisits the fair in absorbing detail and shares some of his thoughts on dating with a pocket change budget before crooning in the moonlight. New skits, stories and songs. The works! What are you waiting for? CC is the place to be. Don't forget to send us your comments: dave@chubcreek.com or gary@chubcreek.com

Chub Creek 04 Time for another new episode! Gary and Dave go camping, Gary has some unexpectedly good news, and Dave talks about a great alternative to spending lots of money on somebody for their birthday. Skits, music and stories; it's all here on episode four of Chub Creek. Come on in. (*note the song in the first part by Dave is a cover of "Let's Shake" by Teenage Head. Sorry, we forgot to mention that sort of, um, extremely important point.)

Chub Creek 03 Goody. Time for the next installment of Chub Creek. In this episode, Dave visits the fortune teller and later reminisces about his old guitar or something, while Gary attempts to commiserate on the ups and downs of raising teenagers. It's not boring really. REALLY! We're not old either. We're very young and youthful. Teenage daughter notwithstanding. Jesus. Well, Gary does have three daughters, and even though we're both 36, I'd say that means he's a decade older than Dave. Music, skits, stories and plenty of other stuff to help waste almost half your next hour. Join us at Chub Creek.

Chub Creek 01 The inaugural episode. Chub Creek is a collaboration between Dave and Gary, two very old friends who live about three thousand miles apart. Working only online, they produce music, skits, and commentary in this unique talk/music/comedy show. But don't worry that it's too polished or it doesn't have the podcast spirit. This show is still very rough around the edges. You'll never know what to expect.
