MCPS have devised a licence for music podcasters. The royalty rate will be the greater of either 12% of the gross revenue (MCPS Admin Charge) or the minimum fee per track downloaded as part of the podcast: full-track 1.5p; half-track (less than 50 per cent by duration) 0.75p.

That’s a lot of revenue potential, especially if your website gets a heap of hits.

This panel will look at the price of Podcasting and the industry’s approach to a global phenomenon that benefits those at the thin end of the longtail. The panel will also look at podsafe music and the “reach vs money spent” comparison of Podcasting and Radio.

Tim Grimsditch, Director of Strategy at FRUKT (M)
Dean Whitbread, Chairman of the UK Podcasters Association.
Simon Wheeler, Chairman of AIM’s New Media Commitee
