On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the British Government's decision to ignore the advice of its most esteemed scientists and experts and push through their headline-grabbing reclassification of Cannabis as a Class B drug, paying special attention to the response of one of the leading opposing voices, that of Liberal Democrat MP Dr Evan Harris who gathered together an impressive roster of signatories to a letter in a failed last-ditch attempt to halt the U-turn, and one of the loudest, if least informed voices supporting it, that of Dopecast favourite Debra Bell of Talking About Cannabis. Hitting the emails, the Dopefiend answers a common question about how best to embark upon psychedelic adventuring for the first time, and talks about the dangers of low blood sugar coupled with cannabis use, the far greater dangers of driving under its influence, then answers some questions relating to the incredible I-Inhale portable vaporizer before going for a stroll with his very own I-Inhale in order to test out its suitability for vaporizing hash, meanwhile reminding listeners of the opportunity to submit their own audio for our Christmas specials. After a musical interlude created by Wegface, the Dopefiend returns to talk further about whether the fears about using silicone tubing with direct-draw vaporizers is justified, then there's some talk about the anti-bacterial properties of Cannabis, Chuck Reno drops a voicemail about smoking blunts, there's more about the value of the sticky residue left on some vaporizers, then, in the Cannabis News, further evidence that Canada's liberal attitudes towards cannabis are under threat as the Kindred Cafe is the latest to be hit in a series of raids, why cannabis is good for your brain, and how it's been found to block certain types of pain, the British MP determined to toughen up laws surrounding paraphernalia and seed sale here in the UK, why 43 Amsterdam coffeeshops are to close, the 79-year-old tomato grower harrassed and intimidated by over-zealous police who thought she was operating a cannabis factory, and the results are in from this year's Cannabis Cup!
Dopecast152: LIVE from the UK Hemp Expo 2008!

On this week's extra special episode of the Dopecast live from last weekend's UK Hemp Expo in London, the Dopefiend enjoys a rare opportunity to experience total Cannabis freedom in the center of London and samples the delights of the UK Hemp Expo, joined by such DopeTribe regulars as Jay K, Floydhead, Max Freakout, to talk about a wide range of subjects including the Hemp Expo itself, the revolutionary I-Inhale and how it's changing the Cannabis Community, how a major psychedelic experience can hamper one's ability to enjoy the pleasure of Cannabis, the benefits and limitations of auto-flowering strains such as Lowryder, whether or not Cannabis could provide a much needed boost to the global economy if legalized, and whether governments would ever recognize that possibility, the increasing clampdown on the Cannabis scene in Amsterdam and whether it'll ever conquer the public desire for legal ganja, and the coming ban on magic mushrooms in Amsterdam and how headshops will respond to it. Next, the Dopefiend heads over the the I-Inhale stand for a chat with Peter, the man behind it's creation and development about how it came to be and its success since its release, then forum member and grower slowme rocks up with his brand new i-inhale and some of his own home grown jack herer to talk about what led him to become a grower, then London based stoner esse b drops in for a chat about his weekend at the Expo. Following a musical interlude, Herodian and Hash Whisperer swing by the DopeTribe corner for a taste of some G-Bomb vapour and a chat about the way different temperatures of vaporization can affect the type of high you get from your favourite strain. Next the Dopefiend heads over to the Seedsman stand for a chat with Dopecast regular Tom from Seedsman for a chat about the seed industry in the UK in general and whether there are moves afoot to restrict seed sale, whether the increasing legitimization of the medical marijuana scene in the United States at the state level is having an impact on the seed business. Next, the Dopefiend chats to this week's sponsor JonnyB, Hash Whisperer, and Dopecast regular Floydhead about their experience of the UK Hemp Expo and the likelihood of a seed sale ban arriving on British shores, as well as the approaching Dutch ban on mushrooms, then he has a chat with cartoonist and former Disney animator Jason Wilson, the creator of the comic serial Smuggling Vacation before closing the day's festivities by chatting to Dopefiend Network Podcasters Max Freakout and Pothead, who's laden with shopping bags full of goodies, and forum regular MycoPhile about their enjoyment of the UK Hemp Expo, before heading home after a long and very stoned weekend! On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend re-visits the subject of Cannabis Psychosis: is it a manufactured myth propagated by the world's anti-drug governments, or is there a real threat to a percentage of the stoner population? The Dopefiend takes a detailed look at the first in-depth study into how episodes of so-called "Cannabis-Induced Psychosis" affect one's likelihood of developing schizophrenia in later life. Before hitting the emails, the Dopefiend reads a message from show sponsor Punkdudeus who's overjoyed with his purchase of a brand new Volcano Vaporizer, then there's discussion about the best way to make hash, the joys of California's medical marijuana laws, the legal situation regarding Cannabis in Ireland, and some assorted chat regarding the I-Inhale, including the safety of silicone tubing when used with vaporizers, and an independent review from satisfied customer Kennibis. Then the Dopefiend, prompted by such listener feedback, fires up his own I-Inhale and goes walkabout for a chat about the success of the I-Inhale and this weekend's UK Hemp Expo, before pausing for another homegrown musical interlude. Red-eyed and rested, the Dopefiend returns to the emails, starting with one from Irish listener DD who looks back over the past hundred and fifty Dopecast epsiodes, before HempHugger send greetings from British Columbia and some questions concerning the viability of auto-flowering strains like Lowryder and whether the psychedelic highs of pure sativas have been consigned to history. Podders emails form Spain with feedback on last week's talk about Cannabis-infused liquor and a recommendation for EricTheRuler's youtube cannabis cookery guides, then Rodders chips in with a question regarding whether the habit of rolling joints with tobacco in Europe is making the fight for truth about Cannabis all the harder. This leads nicely into the Cannabis News, starting with the results of the recent study into European drug habits by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, which suggests that many youngsters are turning down spliffs because of the dangers of tobacco smoking, then two contrasting stories about whether Amsterdam's Coffeeshops will weather the storm of government opposition to Holland's lenient approach to Cannabis, and whether the global financial crisis is actually a good thing for the marijuana market, and also news on how the dutch ban on magic mushrooms is inching ever closer, with a date now set at December 1st, and finally the Bolivian president and his bold stance against the DEA and the War on Drugs. On the Hundred-and-Fiftieth episode of the Dopecast, the Web's Favourite Cannabis Commentator, the Dopefiend, reminds US listeners not to allow the new President elect to rest on his laurels, talks about why the past week's US Election was good for American Cannabis users, with the news that nine out of ten marijuana-related ballot initiatives were passed, then reads a couple of stories about weed-laced booze and Cannabis cookery from show sponsor Filepae. Hitting the emails, there's some debate on the state of Florida's weed, and a recommendation for a Minneapolis glass pipe store, then psychedelic podfather Lorenzo sends some love, after which the Dopefiend again goes walkabout with some Jack Herer in his I-Inhale Portable Vaporizer, taking the opportunity to remind listeners about their opportunity to showcase their creative talents by producing a DopeTribe Dispatch for our Christmas shows, then chats about how he spent election night and his thoughts on Obama's success, before pausing for a musical interlude from listener Calimera and his band Gettysburg. Back from his wanderings, the Dopefiend, nicely lifted by the Jack Herer vapour, reads an email from Danger Brother who finds good old fashioned Cannabis helps his anxiety more than side-effect ridden pharmaceuticals, and muses on whether a more socialized US healthcare system under President Obama may result in a more pragmatic approach to medical marijuana, then Seattle Stoner sings the praises of the Volcano Vaporizer and asks whether the dust that gathers inside the Volcano base is a cause for concern, then, after a voicemail from see.i.lazy about his first experiences with a vaporizer, albeit a very cheap one, Anonymous American emails about our recent problems accepting donations, and tells about the dark, sticky Hash Plant he's been smoking. Back by popular demand, the great Druidude gives his take on the continued failure of Britain's drug policy and why it is that the debate over legalization is creeping ever closer to the seat of power, the way those called for jury service in the UK can articulate their opposition to the drug laws, and finally, gives his commentary on the successful vote for decriminalization of Cannabis in Massachussets. In the rest of this week's Cannabis News, the mainstream press follows the Dopecast's recent coverage of the Japanese Cannabis situation, a warning of Cannabis adulterated with crack cocaine in North London, the most recent raid on the Cannabis Cafà in Lancing in the south of England yields a ban from the premises for four of its staff, the British tabloid press tries to start a frenzy over legal seed sales in the UK and fails, and former singer and British TV institution Cilla Black's revelation that ganja cured her jet-lag at age 61! On the last episode of the Dopecast before the US Presidential Election, the Web's Favourite Cannabis Commentator, the Dopefiend, takes a closer look at the two main candidates and their proposed policies and commentary records concerning Cannabis law in America, examining their histories with Cannabis, then, taking into account the numerous alternative choices on the ballott, announces who he believes is the only choice for American stoners, then reads an email from Shaun about Libertarian candidate Bob Barr, his move to remove McCain and Obama from the ballot, and his prospects for November 4th. Political business dealt with, the Dopefiend returns to last week's subject of the I-Inhale vaporizer and how it's held up to another week's regular use, the listener reaction to last week's review, and the debate on our forum about what the Dopefiend calls "undoubtedly the world's best portable vaporizer". Firing up the I-Inhale, the Dopefiend switches to wireless and vapes some rich Kahuna while wandering around the Dope Den unrestrained by power cables, first paying a visit to his thriving Salvia Divinorum plant, before heading out to the crisp coldness of the Dope Den garden while talking about how much herb the unit holds and how long a full herb chamber keep giving vapour, whether it should have a carb hole to allow easier drawing, or a silicone tube for hands-free vaping, including a warning about carcinogens given off by some types of silicone tubing, possibly a reason to avoid some of the currently available I-Inhale "Comfort Packs" assembled by American retailers, which include tubes that may not have been thoroughly tested. After a musical interlude from Dopecast listener Jamin, the Dopefiend returns significantly stoned, announces the re-opening of donations to the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Nework, and reminds listeners that they can display their creativity by putting together some audio for our Christmas specials or showcasing their music collection on Pothead's Coffeeshop, then hits the emails, starting with more on this week's US Elections and a very important vote taking place in Massachussets, responds to a voicemail question from Chuck Reno about whether the threat from grit weed is still strong, explains why there are usually at least 2 deaths attributed to Cannabis in any given year even though it's almost impossible to overdose, then we hear from TheGreenMan, who fears that this week's US vote will come in far closer than the polls suggest, and also asks about the difference between Sativa and Indica, and for news on our occasional correspondent Druidude. In this week's Cannabis News, Lala K kicks things off with a comparison between the penalties for Cannabis growing and dangerous crimes like drunk driving, the Oregon anti-drug campaigners pushing to shut down their decade-old medical marijuana law, the Dutch border municipalities trying to discourage Cannabis tourism by pushing for leniency on soft-drugs in neighbouring countries, Canadian medical marijuana patients get the right to choose who produces their medicine, the bizarre new adulterant being added to Cannabis is the Netherlands, the new service for parents who wish to alienate their children and abuse their human rights, the smuggler who hid his cargo inside rope, and White House Drug Czar John Walter comes out in favour of decriminalization! In Mexico, that is!
Dopecast148: The ULTIMATE I-Inhale Portable Vaporizer Review!

In another extra-special, feature-length epsiode of the Dopecast, the Dopefiend presents his ULTIMATE I-Inhale Portable Vaporizer Review, kicking the proceedings off by talking first about the history of portable vaporization technology up to now, and then presenting his audio diary of the past week's experimentation of the brand new I-Inhale Portable Vaporizer unit, including testing of its stealth applications by whipping it out on the top floor of a double-decker bus in central London, then sharing some vapes from it with Dopecast newcomer Doctor Chronic in a secret open-air location, before returning to the Dope Den for some heavy duty sampling accompanied by Dopecast regulars Squidgy Sid and G13, where as well as trying the unit out, the trio discuss the various possibilities that truly viable portable vaporizers open up, including vaping in the theatre, at festivals and on the move, all the while running up a tasy tab of various fine herbal delights including NYC Diesel, Aunt Bessie Indica, Aunt Bessie Sativa and Blue Satellite. Final verdicts given, we take a brief musical interlude courtesy of DopeTribe member Lizard Tripsta, then hit this week's emails, starting with a request for news of our occasionally absent Grow Guru, Zandor, followed by a call-out for information on Cannabis's possible application for pancreatic cancer patients, including some discussion of how Cannabis has helped cancer patiens in general Brandon asks what alcoholic beverages are the Dopefiend's favourites, then, following last week's discussion of how the reclassification of Cannabis to Class B in the UK will affect British Cannabis consumers, the Dopefiend answers a question from Joe about how small time growers will be affected, and whether the laws around production and supply are set to change. Austin Wolf drops in a voicemail with a crazy story involving border guards, Mexico and Mary Jane, then, in the Cannabis News, the evidence that stone-age man was a stone-age stoner, more worrisome news from Canada involving their refusal to allow two Canadian hard drug dealers to serve their sentences on home turf, and finally, the teen beauty queen who lost her crown after skipping out on a restaurant tab and leaving her bud behind! In this week's extra special episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend is in celebratory mood as he explains why the British government's decision to reclassify Cannabis as a class B drug could actually mean the de facto decriminalization of Cannabis use, then touches base with friend of the Dopecast Uncle Weed for his slant on last week's Canadian election and how it will effect Cannabis users, as well as some comment on the growing trend for anti-Cannabis policies in Canada, drawing on the recent story of the raw foodists harassed at Toronto Airport for carrying hemp chocolate, with some input from regular contributor HudsonRulez, and also some chat about the impending US presidential election as well as further developments on Uncle Weed's crusade to spread the true history of hemp and Cannabis in Japan. In the VaporLounge, a fresh bag of Jack Herer and Blueberry salad and some tunes provided by bona fide Dopetribe musicians Hey Negrita, puts the Dopefiend in the mood to connect with The Grow Report forum's latest addition to the psychedelic podcast sphere and talks controversy and chaos with Cody from Black Light In The Attic, then finally hits the emails, starting with a Cannabis trip report from Brixtroll, Tirikite Toker defends his donation of vapo-poop to his smoker buddies, and talks more about the Cannabis scene in Japan. In this week's Cannabis News, the pollution caused by guerrilla grows on American National Parkland, yet another nasty side-effect of the War on Drugs, the manufacturers of the Whizzinator face the music over helping stoners cheat drug tests, two scary stories suggesting Australia's government are becoming increasingly Orwellian, and finally, while the global financila crash continues, some stoners have already eschewed cash and are turning to our secret sacrament as currency! On the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast this week, the Dopefiend talks about the return to the UK of British DJ Grooverider following 10 month's imprisonment in a Dubai jail for possession of some forgotten Cannabis dust, how he got off lightly compared to two would-be Cannabis traffickers now facing death by hanging in Malaysia, and why it's the far-eastern and middle-eastern countries who are strongarmed into becoming the west's allies in the War on Drugs despite their often long historical relationships with entheogenic plants. The Dopefiend then talks about the recent problems he's had accepting donations from listeners, and announces the format of this year's Dopefiend.co.uk Stocking Fillers and how members of the Dopetribe can contribute to the Dopefiend network's programme of entertainment this Christmas. Hitting the emails, the Dopefiend talks about that magical level of Cannabis inebriation at which speech and interaction flows beautifully, whether the Dopecast is scripted, Bernado gives his own examples of a sort of temporary "Cannabis Psychosis" involving agitation and paranoia, leading the Dopefiend to suggest that it might just be the result of too much THC, and to a discussion about the alternative perspective on certain situations that use of Cannabis or other entheogens can provide. After a quick mention for psychedelic podfather Lorenzo, the Dopefiend talks about Cocaine, whether it's psychologically or physically addictive and why it's still bad for you none the less, then heads into the VaporLounge for some fresh Kahuna vapour and a chat about forum member vince noir rocknroll star and his protective ire surrounding his recently purchased HerbalAire vaporizer, and the Dopefiend's first published letter in High Times standing up for fair coverage of our Iranian stoner brethren. After a musical interlude provided by British psychedelic rockers Psychetronica, the Dopefiend talks about ultrasonic cleaners, perhaps the answer to cleaning bongs, pipes and vaporizers, and the I-Inhale, perhaps the mobile vaping solution we've all been waiting for, then returns to the subject of pick-up artistry. In the Cannabis News, positive moves for medical marijuana patients in the state of Washington, why the state police are still helping DEA agents when they raid California's legal Compassion Clubs, and how Nevada County police are investigating thefts of legal weed on behalf of medical growers there. On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about how the tide appears to be turning in favour of medical marijuana patients in the US, drawing attention to five recent cases of police forces returning confiscated cannabis to its rightful owners. Tucking into the emails, the Dopefiend answers a question about grinders and mentions the appearance of cannabis couture on the high street and some support for the great ganja of the state of Ohio. Big Chill survivor happydaze777 reports about the disappearance of another Mail Order Marijuana provider, leading the Dopefiend to issue a general warning about MOM and the huge risks for those involved, and to give some advice to those seeking local providers instead. MTBSkaLover emails with details of his recent sabbatical from the dopetribe and his summer job involving homegrown Strawberry Cough and some beaver action, and Guitar Joe talks about how cannabis itself can tell you how best to moderate your use and avoid anxiety, including details of his experience with ayahuasca, prompting the Dopefiend to talk about how his recent moderative approach has enhanced his enjoyment of cannabis, and to mention Bruce Parry's BBC series "Amazon" and how it's awakened an urge to experience an ayahuasca ceremony. Guitar Joe also reviews his brand new Da Buddha vaporizer, after which the Dopefiend moves into the VaporLounge to sample some NYC Diesel and talk about the fundraiser auctions being held at TheGrowReport.com for dopetribe mainstay Lllamabox, before cheshirecat tells of his first experience with cannabis and provides a musical interlude. Seriously lifted, the Dopefiend returns with news of Timp da Pimps's successful harvest and some ropey comedy, followed by some talk about legal smoking blends and whether any of them work and some more words of commendation for the Da Buddha from Virtual Vapor Lounge regular Keplin. In the Cannabis News this week, the Amsterdam tobacco ban claims its first coffeeshop casualty, and news of last week's Boston Freedom Rally. On the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, this week, the Dopefiend wraps up the argument over whether excessive use of illegal drugs constitutes abuse, reads the latest crop of comments on the debate, including some discussion of the value of the psychedelic experience and whether discussing substances other than Cannabis on the Dopecast encourages Cannabis users to try harder drugs, and we hear from the originator of the conversation, forum member SteelDieHard. Hitting the emails, the Dopefiend reads a recommendation from sponsor GratefulDude for water-cooling homegrown buds, and also discusses the common myth that using water pipes is less harmful than smoking joints or pipes, then we hear from satisfied Volcano DIGIT owner Rob, who bought a VapurEyes before upgrading to the Lamborghini Diablo of vaporizers, talks about how the two Volcano valve systems compare, and asks again why a clean bag gets you higher. After all this Volcano talk, the Dopefiend retreats to the VaporLounge for a chat about the collapse of Mail Order Marijuana, his recent visit to Barcelona, and some advice for stoners wishing to visit the sunny city, then pays tribute to the great Rick Wright, founder member of Pink Floyd, who died this week. After our musical interlude, and another pro-Volcano email from Thorzuul, we hear from regular correspondent Christine who reports from the Hempstalk 2008 event in Portland Oregon, and interviews Marijuana Activist and Hemp Entrepreneur Scott Gordon about his involvement in the Hemp and Cannabis scene. Finally, in the Cannabis News, the recent discovery of Cannabis's anti-bacterial properties, which may lead to a solution to the MRSA problem, how the US government not only want to imprison you for Cannabis use, but want you to pay backtaxes on it too, a worrying new Spanish study points to a closer link between youth Cannabis use and early-onset psychosis than previously envisioned, the new unmanned "eye in the sky" scoping out Californian guerrilla growers, and positive moves afoot in Dutch Medical Marijuana growing law. On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks to Canadian Cannabis Crusader Uncle Weed about the difficult situation featuring Canadian grower and Dopecast favourite Herbie, forced to spend his weekends in jail thanks to an increasingly tough stance on Cannabis taken by the Canadian authorities, why it's not as easy as it may sound to some, and why it's yet more evidence of injustice in the war on drugs. The Dopefiend then talks to Uncle Weed about the case of Dopecast listener Snoogins who was busted on a marijuana paraphernalia charge, and why it's important for all stoners to know their rights and to exercise their civil liberties, and also gets his views on the continuing debate over abuse vs experimentation and his thoughts on the recent Big Chill gonzo extravaganza, knowing your own limits and how you have to decide what constitutes abuse on your own terms, whether there is any value in Nitrous Oxide or MDMA, and how important ritual and careful planning is to a successful entheogenic experience. After some virtually-shared vape and smoke, and a musical interlude from electronic maestro Mukti, the Dopefiend listens to a message from DopeTriber Vigilante Juggernaut who gives some advice on how to overgrow the Cannabis laws, then catches up with our very own spiritual sage Druidude for a round-up of some recent Cannabis News, including the story of the former UK Government drug policy worker who's come out in favour of legalization, exposing some of the real harm that prohibition does to society worldwide, and also mentions the easy option taken by unscrupulous cops who'd rather bust Cannabis users to boost their stats than pursue real crime, and the news that recently seized Cannabis is becoming less strong. On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend returns to the debate over whether excess equals abuse, and addresses some listener concerns about the extremes of the Big Chill Dopecast, talks about how psychedelics have been intrinsically linked to the Dopefiend Podcast Network since its inception and why the current state of prohibition contributes to confusion regarding psychedelic substances and their value, and reads some of the past week's emails contributing to the conversation. Then the Dopefiend briefly mentions last week's frivolity at the Notting Hill Carnival before heading into the VaporLounge for a taste of some freshly harvested Aunt Bessie and a chat about why times are hard for stoners in the UK at the moment, then listener and Big Chill survivor Jamin introduces this week's musical interlude. Back from the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend thanks long-term DopeTribe member Xochipilli2012 for his sponsorship, then we hear from Herodian about his forthcoming live music podcast and his brand new Volcano DIGIT, after which SkunkScutter tells us how much his Volcano has enhanced his life. Finally, in a bumper crop of Cannabis News, why Massachussets looks set to join the growing number of American States to decriminalize Marijuana, the horrific story of yet more dogs murdered by power-crazed blood-hungry SWAT teams in the United States, this time made even worse by the fact that the Cannabis they were seeking was delivered by undercover police in the first place, why Canadians who grow ganja are now at risk of losing their house, the stealth growers with such balls that they set up a grow op in a Miami shopping mall, the risk to guerilla growers from a new breed of narco-turtles, and the Bulgarian priest who claims his field of Cheeba is a gift from God! On this week's special Notting Hill Carnival weekend episode of the Dopecast, the Dopefiend is joined by an enormous crowd of Dopefiend.co.uk faithful in a secret smuggler's cove tucked away under the south embankment of the River Thames. First the Dopefiend talks Esse B and Son of Gonzo about their respective musical endeavours, Son of Gonzo talks about his recent trip to Amsterdam, the dangers of staying in tourist trap hostels in the Capital City of Cannabis and how best to deal with them, how a writer can take inspiration from the chaotic craziness over there, how the scene's coping with the change to smoking laws out there, the the Dopefiend talks to Floydhead and Son of Gonzo about his view on last week's debate over whether the excess documented on the Big Chill Dopecast equals abuse, whether mixing a mushroom trip with other substances like Cannabis or Nitrous Oxide is detracting from the value of the mushroom trip, Floydhead talks about his experience of what he sees as "ego-death" and the frequency of his mushroom experiences, and whether low-dose experiences are easier to assimilate than heroic doses. The Dopefiend talks to Blazing Glory about his yearning to join the DOpefiend family at next year's Big Chill and what his view is on the abuse debate, compares Cocaine addiction to a Cannabis habit, including some confusion over whether Cocaine is chemically addictive or merely habit forming, and some talk about the constant battle to keep one's tolerance low and how Cannabis can make the most menial of tasks enjoyable. Blazing Glory then talks about his first ever solo Amsterdam trip and why going solo is the best way to experience Amsterdam, and also whether smoking in full view of police at Notting Hill Carnival is safe anymore. Jay K and Flick then talk about their experience of the Lowlands festival in Holland and how they managed to enjoy a trip on some Philosopher's Stones while there. After a live musical interlude from Son of Gonzo, the Dopefiend relocates to the thick of the action at the Notting Hill Carnival where he's joined by G13 for a chat through some emails encompassing such subjects as how a vaporizer enhances not only one's high, but one's general demeanour when compared with smoking, and the psychedelic aspects of inhaling vapour, and how vaporizing and psychedelic exploration has changed both the Dopefiend and G13's outlook on life and how it can enhance your interaction with others, whether there's any risk associated with carrying a Volcano or other Vaporizer between European countries, some talk about the Italian cannabis scene, whether Cannabis is a help or a hindrance when trying to meet a prospective partner and bizarrely, some dicussion on courses on "how to pick up women" and the worrying trend of "Pick-up Artistry" and whether it's a sensible foundation for any relationship. Back on message, the pair discuss how quickly your Cannabis tolerance can be lost, resulting in unpleasant smoking experiences when returning to smoking, and, battling against a mic tester, the Dopefiend reads some excellent advice from HudsonRulez about how to avoid tell-tale odours when stealth-smoking indoors. Email mail@dopefiend.co.uk, send us a voicemail and drop by our Skype Virtual VaporLounge, and check out the forum.Download this episode here: http://media.libsyn.com/media/dopecast/Dopecast140.mp3Give Son of Gonzo your reaction to his live performance here: http://www.thegrowreport.com/Forums/member.php?username=Son%20of%20GonzoFor more about Notting Hill Carnival, go here: http://www.nottinghillcarnival.biz/Podcast Image: The view from the Dopecave and Flick's sand sculpture. On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend finally returns to the Dope Den to debrief himself and respond to some criticism about the levels of excess recorded on the Big Chill Dopecast, and answers the charge that combining Cannabis with Mushrooms, MDMA and Nitrous Oxide constitutes substance abuse, how the Big Chill gathering differs from the Dopestock shows, and whether careful sourcing, planning and set and setting adds value to a drug experience. The Dopefiend then heads into the VaporLounge to find entheo-pundit and Psychonautica host Max Freakout inhaling some sweet Jack Flash vapour while talking about the differences between high-grade "skunk" Cannabis and Thai weed before taking a musical interlude. The Dopefiend and Max Freakout return to chat about the Dopefiend's latest mushroom breakfast and why it's so rewarding and refreshing, and what's particularly pleasant about the Philosopher's Stone experience, then the pair talk about Max's recent ayahuasca initiation in Holland, whether it's changed his opinion about the importance of an authentic setting and a true shaman, what makes a true shaman, and what he brings to the experience. They then start talking about the nature of "bad" trips and whether an uncomfortable experience is necessary to gain any sort of value. The Dopefiend then raises the point from the start of this episode about whether excess equals abuse and gets Max's opinion on the subject, and his view of Nitrous Oxide in general, which leads to discussion of how Nitrous influenced William James, with parallels drawn to the opium and hashish schools of art and literature, and eventually leading to the question of whether you need to open your mind to a psychedelic experience before you can enjoy it fully, whether a history of psychedelic journeying enables deeper drug-free meditation, and what exactly IS meditation anyway?
Dopecast138: LIVE from Brighton Beach and Shaun of the Dead's Pub!

On this week's special Gonzo edition of the Dopecast, the Dopefiend is joined by Dopestock survivor Cannaya in the sunshine of Brighton Beach for a toke of some fine and tasty herb and a rambling chat encompassing the Big Chill, the classic British TV series The Prisoner and the various psychedelic themes explored not only by its plot, but also by the star and creator's decision to eschew fame and fortune in order to create it, graphic artist Dave McKean and his movie Mirrormask, which was filmed in Brighton, all the while beseiged by seagulls, coastal winds, pebbles, and crusty skunk-dealing locals. The pair then hit the emails, starting with the sad story of Tubby the rasta kitten, leading to some chat about Cannaya's cat and whether it ever gets passively stoned, Josiah emails about how Cannabis has helped him live with Crohn's disease is many different ways, leading to more chat about the various ailments that can be remedied by our secret sacrament, Citizen5 raises the subject of employment-related urine tests in the USA, leading to some talk of how common a practice that is, and whether it's possible to trick them, and asks whether it's possible to grow indoors using "SunTubes" instead of lights. Following a politically-themed musical interlude selected by Cannaya, the intrepid weed-smoking pair relocate to the shadow of The Winchester pub in South East London, made famous by the movie Shaun of the Dead, where they talk about the insanity of British weather before returning to the emails with an unusual LSD trip report from Big D, who mixed acid with sleep-aids, leading to some chat from Cannaya about his experience with DXM, followed by a story from DankAvenger who discovered his stick icky was drenched in PCP, which leads to a discussion on PCP and its effects in general, why people would spike Cannabis with PCP in the first place, and DankAvenger's endeavours to follow up on a previous listener's suggestion and create a popcorn-popper vaporizer, which leads to a chat about home-made smoking devices. Finally T-182 emails with a concern that terminally-ill patients receiving magic mushroom therapy may have an uncomfortable experience, leading to the suggestion from the Dopefiend that an uncomfortable experience is almost the point of the exercise, and some talk about low-cost alternatives to the mighty Volcano Vaporizer, and whether a bag vaporizer is best suited to a solo stoner. In this week's episode of psychonautica, Max Freakout plays the first half of a panel discussion from the World Psychedelic forum, called 'the birth of the psychedelic movement, a look back at another America', featuring Carolyn Garcia, Ralph Metzner, Cynthia Palmer, Michael Horowitz and Dale Pendell. First, Dale Pendell talks about the successes and failures of the 1960s psychedelic movement, its exposure by the media and eventual co-option, the main contributors to the movement, and his own experiences. Next, Cynthia Palmer talks about the conservative, repressed 1950s, her experiences as a teenager during this period, her introduction to drugs and move to New York, growing cannabis and getting busted. Next, Ralph Metzner talks about his forthcoming book with Ram Dass, the consciousness-expanding experience of being born, and various other metaphors for consciousness expansion, Paul stamet's new book 'mycelium running', the mutual understanding between psychedelic people, the illegalisation of psychedelic drugs and different approaches to psychedelic expression. Next, Michael Horowitz talks about the high doses of LSD routinely used in the 1960s, the release of the Beatles' 'Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts club' album in 1967, the abundance of love in the 1960s and his first trip alone. Finally, Carolyn Garcia talks about the concept of a chemically enhanced human being, the miraculous size of an LSD dose, the rapid changes and uncontrollability of the 1960s psychedelic movement, the political backdrop of the period, the music scene of the 1960s, and the protection it provided, Grateful Dead concerts as a conduit of the psychedelic movement, the end of the 1960s and its loss of freedom, the lasting effect of the 1960s on computer technology. In the second part of the podcast, Max documents fan5tastic's first DMT experience, with a written trip report, and a recording of the aftermath of the trip, involving an account of a visit to an intense world of geometric patterns.
